The short answer
In Orange County, private hibachi catering runs $60 to $100 per adult, plus a flat $600 minimum order per event and a $50 deposit to reserve your date. Children are cheaper: ages 6–12 are $30 per child, and children 5 and under are $5.
Package pricing
Most companies — including Hibachi Orange — price by package rather than by hour:
- Classic — $60 per person. Two proteins per person (chicken, steak, shrimp, salmon or tofu), fried rice, salad, grilled vegetables, house sauces, a 90-minute live chef show. You provide your own tables, chairs and place settings.
- Premium — $80 per person. Three proteins per person, extended interactive chef performance, 120 minutes of service, and table and chair setup included.
- Luxury — $100 per person. Lobster tail and filet mignon plus one more protein, hibachi noodles, premium vegetables, deluxe sauces, full deluxe show, and an all-inclusive setup (tables, chairs, utensils, cleanup).
What the minimum means in practice
There is usually no minimum guest count, but every event carries a $600 minimum. That means a party of six adults on the Classic package ($360) would need about $240 more in menu — extra proteins, filet mignon upgrades, lobster tail, hibachi noodles, gyoza or edamame — to reach the minimum. Most small groups are happy to upgrade once they see the menu.

- 10–20 guests: save $50
- 21–30 guests: save $100
- 31–40 guests: save $200
Example budgets
18 adults, Classic: 18 × $60 = $1,080, minus the $50 group discount = about $1,030 before tax and gratuity.
24 adults and 6 kids, Premium: 24 × $80 = $1,920 plus 6 × $30 = $180, minus the $100 group discount = about $2,000.
10 adults, Luxury: 10 × $100 = $1,000, which comfortably clears the $600 minimum with room for upgrades.
